What Are People Saying About You?

My mentor, Diane Hochman refers to it as the dreaded Google Paper Trail. You know, if someone Googles you, what do they see? A clear and consistent presence? A myriad of unrelated businesses? Or worse nothing at all?

If you are just starting out, or need to bury some things. realize it will take some time and a plan to regularly release and promote new stuff. The stuff you want people to see.

I just found this new cool and free tool from Rich Scheffren. It monitors your Google Paper Trail and that of your competitors. Very cool. Try it out!

Top Social Networking Websites

Another post in the Web 2.0 Series:

Social Networking is a huge part of Web 2.0. Social Networks allow for communication and community development, but also social networks provide a way for users to create, store, and search for content, information , and individual connections. This is what differentiates social networking sites from forums and message boards.

Social Networking can be used to build your business, if used properly and respectfully. To save yourself a ton of time, craft a profile and use it at each networking site, with maybe a few changes.

Here are some of the top Social Networking Sites:

Facebook.com
MySpace.com
Ryze.com
CafeMom.com
WorkItMom.com
ShoutLife.com
PowerfulIntentions.com
Xing.com
MeetUp.com

In future post I will cover profile techniques and social networking behavior.

What the Heck is Web 2.0?

For the past year, you may have hear the "Web 2.0" used all over the internet. I know many people know what this means, but there are many in direct sales that need this info.

Quick explanation- Web 2.0 is a term to describe a huge concept shift in the way the internet is used. Simply stated, the internet is no longer a static library- it is a changing and responsive archive. Websites that incorporate Web 2.0 can literally respond and change according to the needs of its viewers.

The most notable example is Wikipedia. As the "encyclopedia anyone can edit," Wikipedia invites users to contribute information or correct misinformation.

Another example of Web 2.0 in action is Amazon. Users can create wishlists and customer scripts enable the website to make recommendations based on what you've been browsing. They invite user reviews and user response to reviews.

Some components that make up the Web 2.0 experience:

Blogs
RSS
Tagging
Comments
Social Bookmarking
Social Networks
Lenses and Hubs

In future blog posts I will discuss these individually.

Mom Masterminds Annouces Program Change

I have been a member of Mom Masterminds for a year and a half. It has been one of the greatest things I've done for my online business-hands down.

In fact you will see the little "graduate" button on this blog. It is a brand I wear proudly. Its disappearance from my websites will be bittersweet. Here's why.

Saying Good-Bye...

Mom Masterminds just turned four years old and with the anniversary, Kelly & Lynette have announced some changes that include saying goodbye to the 'Graduate' program forever.

Let me explain. For most of the four years that MM has been open, they have offered an opportunity to earn a lifetime free membership when you join and stay a member for a consecutive number of months.

As of today, over 100 members, like me, have 'Graduated' into this lifetime membership and there are over 100 more 'on track' to Graduate in 2008 or 2009. These members are not effected by the changes. They are 'grandfathered' in and will never pay another penny for their access to MM.

And now the sweet...

The good news I wanted to tell you is that anyone who joins MM before midnight on August 8th, 2008 will ALSO be grandfathered into the existing program - if they do not cancel their membership before 18 months (or if they choose the one time payment option), they will have the same lifetime access to everything Mom Masterminds has to offer.

After August 8th, MM's membership program will still be an awesome value - actually the monthly price is going to drop a bit. But the opportunity to gain 'paid up status' will be gone forever.

Now is a really good time to make the commitment to your business growth and join us. Just click here: MomMasterminds Online Success Mentoring Program

P.S. & BTW... I'm very happy about my new title- Founding Club Member
